It is with much regret and great sadness that we report the passing of our wonderful and much loved stallion, Deveron Duvall. His entire life was spent in our care, and so leaves a huge gap in our lives. He was put to sleep following a severe colic attack, unfortunately nothing could be done for him, despite having three vets on the property at the time. Duvall was always a very healthy and vital stallion, and it was only in his later years, when his son, Di Maggio, moved in on his territory, that he found life rather difficult, especially during the breeding season.
Duvall leaves behind many fine sons and daughters, but the greatest legacy he left, was the superb temperaments and movement, that so many of them acquired from him. Duvall's story will be told in time, however, for the time being we are still coming to terms with his loss. His passing is the end of an era, lasting 25 years.
Duvall has been laid to rest in a paddock overlooking the Stud.
DEVERON DUVALL has been named the 2006 Derivative Sire of the Year as part of the Arabian Horse Society's Silver Celebration Awards. The award was one of a number presented at a Presentation Dinner in recognition of achievements gained by Duvall's progeny at the 2006 Australian National Championships.
Three of his progeny brought home a total of 4 Championships, 3 Reserve Championships and 5 Top 10, both at halter and under saddle. The successful horses were - Deveron Di Angelo, Yarramee Willow and Belcata Danita
Although Duvall is no longer with us, we are very proud to accept this Award on his behalf.
